Digital Content Creator

The Institute for Research on Public Policy (IRPP) is looking for a Digital Content Creator to help produce and promote digital and traditional content for sharing on all of the Institute’s platforms.
The ideal candidate is a compelling digital storyteller who can jump easily from tasks such as writing engaging social media posts; producing and hosting the IRPP’s Policy Options Podcast; composing well-written newsletters; developing infographics; producing videos; and selecting images. The Digital Content Creator should be an enthusiastic observer of Canadian politics and public policy, and have a demonstrated working knowledge of social media. Working closely with the IRPP’s Communications Director, the candidate should demonstrate a high level of initiative in identifying ways to enhance the Institute and the Centre’s activities and research, and the content published by the Institute’s flagship magazine, Policy Options. Much of this work will be done in English, but the ability to do some in French would be a significant asset.
The candidate will have a degree in a field such as journalism, communications, political science or public policy, and one- or two-years’ experience in a related field and must be able to provide writing samples. Experience with digital tools such as WordPress, MailChimp, and Adobe Creative Cloud applications is necessary. As this position is based in Montreal, the ability to work in a bilingual work environment is required.
While the IRPP permits flexible work arrangements, including occasional remote work, it is expected that the candidate will primarily work out of the IRPP’s office in Montreal once government confinement measures have been fully lifted.
Please submit by email a cover letter, CV, and three samples of your written and/or audio-visual work to cdesjardins@irpp.org. Please respond before January 31 at 6 p.m. EST. The salary range for this position will be disclosed to candidates whose applications have been retained for an interview. Interviews will be conducted virtually.
We thank all applicants for their interest, but only those selected for an interview will be contacted. Contact to schedule interviews will be made the week of February 8.
