Job – Bilingual Editorial Coordinator – News Canada

News Canada provides quality articles to the media and content publishers, videos to websites, and audio news releases to broadcasters in both English and French. With 40 years of experience delivering lifestyle content, News Canada is looking for a Bilingual Editorial Coordinator to help our Director of Editorial & Content edit, write, produce and promote our content. This full-time, remote position requires strong copywriting, editing and journalism skills in both English and French, along with a keen interest in the media industry and the ability to identify trends and generate new ideas to meet the needs of content publishers.

This position will be accountable for:

  • Promoting News Canada content to the English and French media
  • Editing English content to ensure that it follows the Canadian Press Style Guide
  • Assist in writing and producing English radio content
  • Directing French spokespersons for radio spots
  • Analyzing media industry and investigating new media opportunities
  • Preparing email notifications to the media

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Highly developed writing skills in both English and French
  • Multi-task oriented with an ability to work independently with appropriate guidance from senior-level employees
  • Ability to work to a defined schedule and practice effective time management
  • Demonstrate initiative in all aspects of services provided by News Canada
  • Able to learn quickly and use knowledge to be effective with the media and within News Canada
  • Working knowledge of computer software and applications such as Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Microsoft Office
