Full posting can be accessed via the CAPS job bank. Job ID: 571764

Project Description

Concordia is preparing a book to mark its 50th anniversary. Multiple voices will be brought together to explore the diverse perspectives that have made Concordia. The book is going to explore different events, questions, themes and points of view from a spectrum of authors, all related to Concordia in one way or another.

The chapter we are working on will cover Lifelong learning and Continuing Education history at Concordia since its creation in 1974, with a connection to foundation institutions: YMCA, Sir Georges Williams, and Loyola College. The frame of the text will be based on chronology, timelines with leader’s visions and most significant contributions to the University and impact on Concordia societal needs response. It will be a vibrant story made of authentic testimonials to capture not only what the archives will tell us but also the oral history that people will share in interviews. This should give the readers a broader and more intimate understanding (facts, emotions, different perspectives: cultural, gender and socio demographic backgrounds) and sensitivity on how Continuing education and Lifelong learning has always been part of the University DNA and signature.
