iPolitics is looking for a full-time political reporter with excellent journalistic judgment and strong storytelling skills to join our Ottawa bureau.

We are looking for a driven reporter with Parliament Hill experience or a track record of breaking political and policy news and a desire to make their mark on the Hill.

The successful candidate is comfortable and experienced with social media and has an engaged professional presence online. They also have excellent interpersonal skills and thrive on working with others

Strong writing skills, a solid grasp of Canadian Press style and an ability to meet tight deadlines are a must. Bilingualism is a key asset.

Job Description

• File daily news stories and features for a web-based platform;
• Cover events including parliamentary debates and committee hearings, elections, and leadership races;
• Participate in scrums and press conferences on Parliament Hill;
• Develop the kinds of sources within political circles that allow you to break original stories;
• Develop expertise in a federal beat;
• Use social media and email newsletters to develop and disseminate news stories;
• Report on political polling.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in journalism, political science, economics or a related field;
• At least two years’ experience in journalism;
• Ability to report on breaking news quickly and accurately;

• Proven ability to generate compelling, original story ideas for a digital platform;

Production et développement audionumérique – Radio-Canada OHdio
Printemps-été 2023

Objectif: Offrir un stage professionnel à un étudiant de Concordia, afin de l’exposer au métier
de réalisateur ou réalisatrice en audionumérique à Radio-Canada, et ainsi découvrir de
nouveaux talents potentiels pour notre secteur en constante croissance.
Durée du stage: 12 semaines, à compter du mois d’avril 2023, à temps plein (4 jours par
semaine).

Lieu: Maison de Radio-Canada, située au 1000, rue Papineau, à Montréal.
Type d’étudiant visé: Un étudiant ou une étudiante en fin de parcours au baccalauréat
(deuxième année complétée lors du début du stage), passionné d’audionumérique, soit de
production balado (podcast) et de livres audio. Le champ d’études de la personne choisie peut
être en journalisme, en production cinématographique, en communications, ou tout autre
domaine pertinent. Nous accorderons une attention particulière aux candidatures issues de la
diversité et offrons un environnement de stage où les personnes vivant avec un handicap sont
les bienvenues. La langue de travail est le français.

Stage rémunéré: oui

Encadrement: Sous la supervision d’un chef de projets, le stagiaire pourra compter sur une
équipe de réalisateurs chevronnés et d’autres chefs de projets pour le soutenir dans ses tâches.
Une partie du stage sera basée sur l’observation, puis l’autre sur la collaboration avec les
différents réalisateurs. Vers la fin du stage, l’étudiant sera amené à intervenir sur différents
projets (épisodes de balado et livre audio) et recevra de la rétroaction à chaque étape. Un
encadrement sur une base hebdomadaire est prévu avec un superviseur et un rapport de stage
sera préparé en conclusion, au besoin.

Types de tâches: Le stage pourra inclure une participation active à:
Des rencontres de brainstorm pour de prochains projets, pour des sujets d’épisodes, des
invités potentiels;
De la recherche pour trouver des invités et des sujets, et la rédaction de résumés de
recherche;
Le plan de contenu, la rédaction de textes de présentation et de résumés;
L’organisation des tâches pour mener à bien le projet, la planification d’horaires
d’enregistrement, la coordination d’équipe;
L’enregistrement audio à distance, en studio ou encore sur le terrain (entrevues,
comédiens et animateurs);
Le montage audio avec des outils comme Audition;
Toute autre tâche connexe associée à la réalisation de balado et de livres audio.
Qualités recherchées:
Passion pour les balados (podcasts) et/ou le montage audio;
Débrouillardise et autonomie;
Facilité avec les outils d’enregistrement et de montage;
Sens des responsabilités, respect des échéanciers;
Capacité de travailler en équipe;
Adaptabilité, flexibilité;
Excellente maîtrise du français (stage en français).

Broadview Summer Internship

Broadview is an independent Canadian magazine focused on spirituality, social
justice and ethical living. Through our award-winning stories and compelling
images, Broadview challenges and inspires readers across the country.
We are currently inviting applications for the Muriel Duncan Broadview Internship,
which offers the successful applicant $7,200 to work with the editorial team at
Broadview for 12 weeks this summer. The intern will have the chance to pitch and
write stories, participate in editorial meetings, copy edit articles, fact-check
features, proofread layouts and create digital content.

Candidates must be under 30 and enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution
at the time of application. They must also be a Canadian citizen, a permanent
resident or hold refugee status to qualify. The internship will be remote, with the
