The Concordian, an independent student newspaper at Concordia, is looking for an Opinions Editor for the upcoming school year. This is a great opportunity to make connections with student and professional journalists, gain newsroom experience, and get your writing published weekly both online and in print.

Hours: Part-time (6-12 hrs/week)
Honorarium: Around $35/week (TBD)

Responsibilities:

– Pitch and write op-eds & columns
– Edit contributor articles & letters to the editor
– Ensure bimonthly editorials are written, edited, and approved by newspaper staff
– Ensure all opinions articles cover topics are relevant to Concordia students and use nuanced and balanced commentary
– Manage a weekly newsletter, participate with the podcast and other multimedia content
