[Job] Logger/transcribers for This Productions

Picture This Productions is a video production company based in N.D.G. We produce documentaries, TV shows and corporate videos.

Currently, we are looking to hire a team of loggers/transcribers to work part-time on a new TV show in production.

What is a logger/transcriber? Loggers are excellent writers who observe footage and note detailed descriptions of the story and visuals of each tape of film. Their documents will be used by editors to identify which tapes have the correct footage, dialogue and interesting moments when they piece the final product together. In short… loggers are the offspring of a storyteller and an English teacher.

Tasks include:

  1. Reviewing interview and non-interview footage
  2. Transcribing interviews verbatim (using AI software to speed up the process) and the various shots and timecodes for non-interview footage using film language (ie. close up, establishing shot, over the shoulder…)
  3. Identify key moments, story arcs, emotional scenes and all other clips that might work in the final product of the show.

We are looking for excellent English speakers (as the show is in English) who can work remotely and meet deadlines as requested. We aim to keep a small team of transcribers on the payroll for several months on a part-time basis, so this is an ideal position for a student looking to make some extra money and gain experience in the film/production industry.

The rate for transcribers is $1.50 per minute of footage (i.e. a 60 minute interview video= $90 for example).

Preference will be given to candidates who can commit to job until October (when we end shooting).

No prior experience in transcribing is needed.
