Research assistanship / Podcast

As part of our “Secularism on the Move” Research project (University of York & Memorial University, Newfoundland), we are looking for two senior undergraduate or master of journalism students to assist in producing 2 x 2 podcasts (two podcasts in English and French) in the Winter 2024 semester.
Duties: coordinating with Dr. Selby and Dr. Barras in editing and producing the four podcasts (1 podcast x EN/FR x 2 students).
Qualifications: Bilingual; a full-time Université de Montréal, UQAM or Concordia student; some radio/podcast production experience; ability to work well independently, work collaboratively, be organized and reliable. We will work mostly remotely, with the possibility of intensive two-day work gathering (dates TBD).
Salary: $17-26/hour (depending on qualifications) for 40-50 hours for each position (we will hire two students).

The News Director is responsible for managing all elements of news at CJLO 1690AM. This involves training and managing news volunteers, ensuring quality of weekly news and community calendar broadcasts, and doing original reporting as needed.

● Ensuring the quality of our daily newscasts
