Description: The Communications Intern is a strong writer who is comfortable with social media and making video content. You will write regular updates and maintain content for our internal website. Web content management training will be provided. You will shoot and edit videos under the guidance of a seasoned professional. Videography training will be provided. You will write content for the weekly electronic newsletter, as well as a range of other content for internal and external audiences. You will work alongside the Director of Corporate Affairs. Your French language skills will be tapped occasionally to review and proofread text. You will play a key role in supporting a new national communications and engagement strategy.

• Full-time work, 40 hours per week.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
• Proficiency with social media (Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Linked In and Instagram)
• Videography – shooting and basic editing
• Must have strong communication skills and be able to work independently
• Bilingual
• Flexible start and end dates

This new web magazine intends to give a voice to refugees and people in exile.

The idea is to use text, radio, videos, drawings and so on to tell stories about exile. Based in Montreal and Marseille, we are also developing partnerships in England, Germany, Belgium, South Africa, and Indonesia. So it is really a transnational project.

In order to produce great content and beautiful stories, we ask volunteer journalists,
video-reporters, photographers, to help refugees to tell their stories. It could be a great opportunity for journalism students to gain experience and work on a project that has a positive social impact.

Description: VR World is looking to find a couple of strong Anglophone journalists for a news website that primarily focuses on virtual reality, but also covers augmented reality, mixed reality, artificial intelligence, VR-specific hardware/software, mobile and entertainment stories (VR in movies/gaming).

Position Requirements: We are looking for quick-learning and dedicated journalists who can not only produce fresh, engaging and well-worded content, but who are able to contribute regularly (up to multiple times per day).

At this point we are set to publish stories up to 350-400 words each at the rate that we’d both be happy with. Should our work together be successful, there is definitely room for growth as we’d look to transition selected writers to higher-rate feature writers positions.

– Journalism major is a major plus.
– Experience working in a news room and/or agency is a plus.
– Available for frequent contributions (Monday-Friday) and occasional weekends.
– Personal interest and/or experience in the subject matter is a plus.
