Quench magazine is looking for article writers for our website. We would like to offer a writing opportunity to journalism students, as a way for them to build their online portfolio, gain experience working with a publication and even make a little money on the side.
Quench is Canada’s only nationwide food and drinks magazine. We started in 1973 as a newsletter named Tidings that focused on educating passionate wine lovers about the wine world. Since then, we have grown into a subscribed food and drink publication with over half a million readers. Our focus has shifted with more wine, beers and spirits from around the world, easy-to-create recipes, spotlights on estates and producers, ideas for home improvement, and the top food and wine trends … and we do it all in an easy-to-understand language that appeals to the everyday gourmet and the experienced connoisseur.
Our content is divided into Quench Digital and Quench Print. Quench Digital includes our website and social media platforms, as well as the newsletter and etc. Our print magazine is published eight times a year.
About the opportunity
We are currently looking for new writers who are able to write 1 to 2 web-based articles per month. These are short articles – up to 500 words – and would focus on new trends in food, drink, travel, home, etc. This is a remote position – no office or meetings.
