Solfium Inc. is a Greentech start-up in the distributed solar energy space with a disruptive business model for residential and light industrial markets. Solfium is a Canadian company with launch operations in Mexico and plans to expand in LATAM and other emerging countries.
The company is offering 3 paid internships for Spring/Summer 2021. The successful applicants will work directly with the CEO and Management Board, as well as members of the Advisory Council, who are based in Mexico City, Mountain View, California, and Montreal/Toronto Canada. Working will be largely on a remote basis, with a high degree of flexibility around working hours and deliverable management.

Finance Intern
• Support the establishment of an equity financing strategy
• Research Venture Capital firm criteria and theses and assess alignment with Solfium financing strategy • Assist with equity financing negotiation strategy and execution
• Research and assess non-dilutive funding opportunities o Prepare applications for selected program funding
• Perform economic analysis in support of business plan
• Support development of finance department policies and structure
Note: Background in Finance highly desirable in this role
Communications & Marketing Intern
• Develop social-media strategy for Solfium Inc. and Solfium Mexico
• Develop and deploy social-media campaign & content
• Work with external agency in Mexico for web-site development & improvement
• Review corporate communication materials including investor presentations
• Research & develop corporate communication policies and guidelines
• Research competitive landscape and benchmark communications best practices
• Working proficiency in Spanish essential
Note: background in Communications highly desirable in this role

Strategy Intern
• Assess economic viability and value of additional business lines for Solfium
o Batteries
o Finance origination fees
o Commercial installations
o After-market (maintenance contracts, ancillary goods & services, etc.)
For additional business lines:
o Quantify market opportunity
o Assess competitor landscape/ Advise on Solfium’s competitive positioning
o Quantify economic value (for incorporation into business plan)
Driven by unit-economics
o Consider integration w/ customer acquisition pipeline and corporate partnerships
• Assist with Solfium’s corporate governance policy development and implementation
• Assist with the establishment of data analytic capabilities
Note: Background in Strategy / Start-ups highly desirable in this role
