The Lobby Monitor is the leading news source on Canada’s lobbying business and provides exclusive coverage on who is influencing top decision makers on the federal scene and beyond.

The Lobby Monitor is a subscriber service that provides daily news and analysis about the strategies and people behind public policy advocacy, issues management, government relation campaigns and procurement in Canada.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced journalist covering politics and/or business news at a reputable news organization. We are seeking a candidate with expertise covering federal politics, lobbying, and/or regulatory affairs. The successful candidate will possess an acute attention to detail, impeccably clean copy and experience editing in a fast-paced, daily newsroom. Knowledge of Canada’s key industries such as oil and gas, mining and resource extraction, transportation, and healthcare, are an asset.

-A degree in journalism or communications
-Experience covering politics and/or business
-Knowledge of Canadian federal/provincial government
-An understanding of regulatory affairs, industry issues, key government stakeholders and lobbyists
-Editors may also be asked to contribute to various other projects or events hosted by The Hill Times
