Job: Assisting in all aspects of newsgathering
Location: London, UK
Deadline to apply: February 23, 2018
Duration: Six Weeks (May—Sept.)
The CBC’s bureau in London, England is offering four unpaid internships to journalism students this summer. Each placement runs for six weeks between the end of May and end of September. The internship includes: researching for radio, tv and online news stories, booking interviews, accompanying correspondents and crews on shoots and live remote broadcasts, and generally assisting in all aspects of newsgathering. The internship also includes the possibility of pitching an online assignment for cbcnews.ca.
Successful candidates need to be self-starters with advanced research skills who learn quickly and require minimal supervision. Intern assignments can change as rapidly as the news changes, so it is essential to be adaptable and able to anticipate shifting needs.
Interns are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and living costs. CBC London can supply the names and email addresses of former interns who can answer questions about finding accommodation and how to get the most out of the internship.
Send your CV, cover letter, and at least two references to Erin Boudreau, managing producer for the London bureau: email@example.com
The deadline for applications is February 23, 2018, and CBC will make a decision within two weeks in order for successful candidates to make travel arrangements.
