Description:

The junior web editor is in charge of publishing various photo galleries. Their main responsibilities are publishing submitted content and completing the photographic research initiated by content providers.

The ideal candidate has strong general knowledge and an interest in trends and local and international current events. Curious, organized, and quick on their feet, they are comfortable under pressure and thrive on tight deadlines. Must be bilingual to apply.

Duties
• Upload and optimize photo galleries submitted by content providers
• Select and format photos while respecting image copyrights and distribution permissions
• Publish content while ensuring high-quality writing, revision, and photo selection
• Create content upon request (mostly English, occasionally French)
• Attend editorial meetings with the content team

Requirements:
• Studies in at least one of the following fields: journalism, writing, communications, online content management
• 3–6 months of experience in web publishing, writing, or revision for an online publication
• Comfortable working with a CMS (basic knowledge of HTML is an asset)
• Fluent in French and English
• Ability to adapt easily

Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (full-time position), at our office in Montreal’s Plateau-Mont-Royal borough. Position to start as soon as possible.

The Vocalist Magazine TV shows The Vocalist Magazine PRESENTS and Mavens: A Day In The Life Of… presently air on Bell Fibe TV1. We film behind the scenes of these shows, edit, and release the highlights on our web channel.

Position Requirements: The intern should be familiar with the basics of editing and have their own computer. This is an unpaid internship but if the intern shows potential they may be hired for paying future projects.

The intern will need to attend weekly meetings and will be asked to help out as a production assistant on shoots. After each shoot, producers will explain to the intern what they expect, and there must be a quick turnaround for editing.

Description: VR World is looking to find a couple of strong Anglophone journalists for a news website that primarily focuses on virtual reality, but also covers augmented reality, mixed reality, artificial intelligence, VR-specific hardware/software, mobile and entertainment stories (VR in movies/gaming).

Position Requirements: We are looking for quick-learning and dedicated journalists who can not only produce fresh, engaging and well-worded content, but who are able to contribute regularly (up to multiple times per day).
