Reporters and Editors – Summer Positions Brunswick News is hiring reporters and editors for paid positions over the summer of 2016 with Atlantic Canada’s most dynamic media group. These are jobs — not internships — for aspiring journalists who will help cover the news of New Brunswick in locations around the province. Our growing network of media outlets follows an aggressive digital-first approach to publishing while serving print readers with three daily newspapers, more than a dozen weekly newspapers and several magazines. Our journalists have captured more than 150 awards from the prestigious Atlantic Journalism Awards, which recognize journalistic excellence in the region. We are looking for reporters with curiosity, a keen news sense, a hunger to break stories and a clean, clear writing style. We are looking for editors with a broad range of skills, from fact-checking and copy-editing to writing headlines, choosing photos and participating in digital and print production.

Qualifications: ● University or college-level studies in journalism or a related education. ● Previous newsroom experience is preferred, but not necessary. ● Clear writing style and a demonstrated ability to work quickly and accurately on deadline. ● Organizational skills and the ability to multi-task, particularly in high-stress situations. ● Sound knowledge of Canadian Press style. ● Excellent command of the English language (fluency in French is an asset). ● Sound understanding of media law. ● Knowledge of social media platforms and content. ● Must be legally eligible to work in Canada through September, 2016. ● For reporters, the ability to shoot compelling photo and video. ● For reporters, a valid driver’s license. GENERATION SOCCER.TV is the first 100% dedicated soccer magazine in Canada. Our program is broadcasted from May to December of each year. GSTV is looking for new talents, journalists.
